As SolarCity’s Senior Commercial Marketing Manager, Adam Happel is responsible for leading the company’s growth strategy and customer acquisition efforts across governments, schools, and private businesses. He is focused on solidifying SolarCity’s leadership position in providing cleaner, cheaper energy to commercial entities across the U.S.
Prior to SolarCity, Adam was a Principal at GreenOrder/Cleantech Group and led their Transportation Practice, where he worked with commercial organizations, government agencies, and NGOs to develop a wide range of solutions to their most pressing sustainability challenges. While with GreenOrder, Adam developed environmental innovation strategies for some of the largest fleet owners in the U.S. and co-authored a LEED Pilot Credit. Adam also worked at Booz & Company, developing growth strategies and operational efficiency solutions for companies in the automotive, health care, financial services, and consumer industries, and for a number of NGOs.
Adam began his career as an environmental consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton where he worked with the U.S. EPA on a variety of engagements, including pollution modeling to determine PCB contamination responsibilities of Superfund sites near major watersheds. He holds a double-major B.S. in biology and environmental science from The College of William & Mary, and a MBA from The Darden School of Business, University of Virginia.
