
Alexander Tankou

Alexander Tankou is a research analyst for WRI’s Climate program, where he supports countries in formulating more coherent policies at the nexus of climate, sustainable development and poverty reduction.
Prior to WRI, Alex interned at the United Nation African Climate Policy Center, the American Action Forum and the Center for American Progress.
He holds a Bachelor of Science in Energy Engineering from the Pennsylvania State University and a Masters in Energy Policy and Climate from Johns Hopkins University. His graduate thesis lays the foundational work for the development of a low carbon energy policy in Cameroon, Central Africa.
Alexander was born in Dallas, Texas, but grew up in Ethiopia and Cameroon. Outside of work, he enjoys playing/watching soccer, cooking and traveling.
