Anabella de Freeman is a Senior Manager in Sustainability at Walmart Stores Inc. in Bentonville, Arkansas. In her role, she is responsible for leading Walmart’s sustainable programs for the company’s fresh produce business focused on reducing environmental impacts and costs throughout the supply chain and driving responsible labor practices.
In addition to forming strategies for emerging environmental issues for the company, Anabella works to support company-wide efforts to monitor sustainable sourcing and advance sustainable product procurement for Walmart’s global supply chain. Anabella works across multiple business units at Walmart, and with non-governmental organizations (NGOs), companies and industry organizations.
Anabella joined our Central America business 20 years ago and over the course of her career with Walmart has held roles in Public Relations, Corporate Affairs including leading the Small Supplier Development program “A Hand to Grow” in Walmart Central America and supported Walmart’s Latin American operations in the Women Economic Empowerment initiative, and most recently in Responsible Sourcing in Walmart US.
Born in Guatemala, Anabella has a BBA in Business Management, a BBA in International Business and French Minor from Harding University, Arkansas. She is fluent in English, Spanish and French, and formerly taught courses at the university level in related fields.
