How does one become a "supply chain innovator"?
For Helene York, a long career in advancing sustainability in strategic food purchasing combined with the resources and mindset of a company such as Google compelled her to think outside of the box.
From 2012 to 2017, York oversaw the procurement as well as water, waste and energy initiatives for the catering company the Compass Group, directly for Google. Google, which has one of the largest corporate cafeteria services in the world, also has offices around the world.
She sat down with Joel Makower at VERGE 16 in Santa Clara to discuss how she views the importance of her role, as well as how she sees the field changing with the introduction of new technology.
