Features

Insights from carpooling pioneer BlaBlaCar (19:00)

Close to 70 million riders in Europe and South America use carpooling and shared-ride services from BlaBlaCar to get around, although the company remains relatively unknown in the United States. The company's CEO and co-founder, Nicolas Brusson, chats about how these services are affecting emissions (yes, it has new numbers measuring that impact) and why carpooling works in BlaBlaCar's core markets even though it's still a tough sell with U.S. riders.

WeWork's work-in-progress (23:20)

Close to half-million freelancers, small businesses and traveling professionals globally avail themselves of the office space and services provided by WeWork, a pioneer in the concept of shared workspaces. We caught up with Lindsay Baker, the first head of sustainability and well-being for WeWork's parent We Co., about how she's engaging with the nine-year-old company's employees — and customers — to prioritize its strategy for addressing climate change. "I wish for more plain English to be spoken when it comes to these issues, especially around things like corporate renewable energy procurement," she said. "That in and of itself is going to be a snooze for a lot of people."

* All music by Lee Rosevere: "Going For Coffee," "Here's The Thing" and "Arcade Montage."
