This is a significant moment in accelerating the growth of our event brands and media properties.

GreenBiz 16, taking place this week in Arizona, has become the premier annual event for the world's most influential corporate sustainability executives. Event attendance has grown more than 30% in just two years, and plans are in place to move the event to a larger venue next year for GreenBiz 17, at the JW Marriott Dessert Ridge in Scottsdale.

GreenBiz Group’s other event series, VERGE, focusing on the technologies and systems that accelerate sustainability solutions, has also experienced rapid growth. The event was launched in 2011 in San Francisco, London and Shanghai and has since traveled to Paris, Sao Paulo, Washington D.C., and Boston, with the flagship annual event taking place each fall in Silicon Valley. VERGE is recognized for convening a diverse audience of influential corporate executives, tech entrepreneurs, government officials and utility executives to explore transformative, scalable, solutions for addressing climate change and other business, environmental and social challenges.

Recently, the Hawaii State Energy Office awarded a contract to GreenBiz to bring VERGE to Hawaii. VERGE Hawaii — Asia Pacific Clean Energy Summit, June 21-23, will focus on the technologies and solutions that will enable Hawaii to fulfill its ambitious mandate to be powered 100% by renewable energy by 2045 while making its economy both more robust and resilient.

I’m excited about rapidly expanding the company’s ability to leverage its thought leadership and convening power.

“GreenBiz Group has become the leading player in accelerating markets for clean energy, connected vehicles, intelligent buildings and resilient cities, and I’m excited about rapidly expanding the company’s ability to leverage its thought leadership and convening power,” said Kerwin. “Climate change is one of the greatest challenges of this century and I’m honored to join GreenBiz Group and work with the best and brightest minds in technology and sustainability across the globe to tackle this problem.”
