For the past few years, plant- and lab-based meat alternatives have been garnering the attention of consumers and the media. Hailed as everything from "the future of food" to "false advertising," the road to acceptance for these meat substitutes has been bumpy.
But Justin Whitmore, the executive vice president of alternative proteins at Tyson Foods, as well as the chief sustainability officer, came to the GreenBiz 19 mainstage in Phoenix, Arizona, and talked about why Tyson Foods is betting on alternative proteins — not only for taste but for sustainability.
