WRI-US
Carla Walker has spearheaded large-scale civic engagement and public service initiatives at the local, state, national and international levels for the last two decades. Having worked with three Cincinnati mayors, her fingerprints are on many of the major projects that define the city’s renaissance including the notable climate change strategies and initiatives. She serves as U.S. director of environmental justice and equity at World Resources Institute. Prior to that, at NRDC, she supported the city of Cincinnati as a climate adviser through the Bloomberg Philanthropies American Cities Climate Challenge. In that role, she designed energy equity and efficiency programs for income-eligible renters and the multifamily buildings in which they live and created EV Cincy, a multipronged awareness platform to educate the public on the benefits of owning and driving an electric vehicle.
