Casey Talon is a principal research analyst with Navigant Research, contributing to the Building Innovations program. With a background in economics, environmental science and policy, she has deep experience as an analyst and consultant in the building technology sector.
Prior to joining Navigant Research, Talon was a senior project analyst at Nexant, Inc., where she focused on survey design, data analysis, and research around the market opportunity for energy efficiency and demand savings. She is also a former senior research analyst in the Smart Buildings practice at IDC Energy Insights, where she designed a Smart Buildings Maturity Model and managed client relationships with a range of companies including IBM, Verizon, and Johnson Controls. Quoted in The Washington Post and other national publications, Talon has provided consulting services for executive decision-makers on the business challenges related to climate change and sustainability, as well as the opportunities for investment in energy efficiency and smart buildings. Talon holds a Master of Public Administration degree from Columbia University’s School of International and Public Affairs and a BA in Economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.
