Charles Teplin, Ph.D., is a manager in RMI’s Electricity Practice. Teplin studies resilient, clean and cost-effective solutions that can modernize how the United States generates and delivers electricity. His work includes quantitative modeling and stakeholder facilitation.
Teplin brings experience from throughout the energy technology chain. At NREL, he worked on materials, devices and economics for solar photovoltaic energy. Teplin helped lead a collaboration between the lab and Ampulse, a photovoltaics startup based on laboratory patents (including his own). At Terralux, an LED lighting startup, Teplin architected and led development of LEDSENSE, an Internet of Things building controls platform.
