Chris David leads data-driven decision-making and map-based visual storytelling at American Forests. Chris spear-headed the development of American Forests’ ground-breaking Tree Equity Score platform and associated applications and products to support equitable access to trees in cities across the country. His team helps staff across the organization use data to tell compelling forest stories and develop science-based decision-support applications that lead to better outcomes for climate, water, wildlife and people. Prior to joining American Forests, he led GIS development for The Trust for Public Land’s Climate-Smart Cities work nation-wide and spent a decade supporting place-based decision-making for local and federal government agencies. Chris has degrees in Mathematics, Planning, and GIS from the Universities of Massachusetts, Virginia, and Maryland, respectively.
