Dan is a seasoned environmental, sustainability, health & safety professional with extensive accomplishments developing and implementing environmental, sustainability, health, safety and loss control programs. He is responsible for assisting in the strategic development and implementation of Walgreens Boots Alliance (WBA) environmental sustainability and waste reduction efforts (including solid waste and recycling). Dan is widely recognized as an environmental subject matter expert who proactively assesses continual improvement opportunities and the sharing of industry best practices. He has been providing guidance and leadership on WBA’s waste prevention and zero waste to landfill initiatives. Prior to starting his current role at Walgreens, Dan spent 13 years in environmental consulting and an additional 8 years in manufacturing (Johnson Controls and Morton Salt), managing environmental projects and audit programs, as well as assisting in the implementation of Environmental Management Systems; such as ISO14001. Dan received his Master’s degree in Environmental Management from Illinois Institute of Technology Stuart Graduate School of Business in Chicago, Illinois and is a Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).
