A corporate social responsibility and sustainability expert, Diane Osgood helps companies build profits and purpose. As a strategist and innovator, she helps create new products and services, connect companies with communities and embeds brand purpose and sustainability into operations. She develops sustainability and climate change strategies for Fortune 500 companies.
Working for Richard Branson’s Virgin Management, she led the deep integration of purpose and sustainability into Virgin companies and helped build new revenue opportunities. The results included the launch of two new Virgin companies, reaped savings from higher staff retention rates and employee engagement, eco-efficiencies, carbon disclosure reporting and ground-breaking multi-sector partnerships. She turned repetitional risk into opportunities by embracing thorny issues through stakeholder dialogue, resulting in the brand being recognized as a leader in environmental protection and animal welfare.
Diane was a senior adviser to President Bill Clinton for the Clinton Global Initiative (CGI). At the CGI, she launched as a core topic sustainable consumerism, and collaborated closely with fashion icon Donna Karan on a series of dialogues and events.
As a consultant, Diane has worked for DuPont, creating new products, helped establish advisory panel which reported to C-suite and board. Her clients also included Dow, Monsanto, Aventis and the World Business Council for Sustainable Development. She was on the executive team at Business for Social Responsibility, leading strategy and research.
