As treasurer for Starbucks, Drew Wolff is responsible for global cash management, card processing, investment management, debt issuance, foreign exchange, and commodity hedging activities. Additionally, he leads the insurance risk management group and is a member of the firm’s enterprise risk management and capital committees.
His experience includes over 16 years in senior financial and strategic planning roles in large retail banks with operations in the US, Europe, and Africa. Through 2012, he served as chief of staff and executive committee member for Barclays UK retail bank. Prior to that, he served as the divisional financial officer responsible for Barclays retail bank’s distribution channels and consumer loan/deposit portfolios. He joined Barclays in 2006 from Washington Mutual where he held a similar finance position for several years. He also held the roles of strategy director for Washington Mutual’s retail bank division and a principal in the bank’s corporate venture fund.
Wolff holds an MBA with distinction in finance from the University of Michigan and a B.S. in economics with distinction from the United States Naval Academy. Before embarking on his career in business, he served as an officer on board several nuclear submarines.
