Elizabeth Stampe

Elizabeth Stampe provides policy, advocacy and communications expertise to help six Western cities act quickly to reduce climate pollution. Prior to joining NRDC, Stampe was an independent consultant supporting NGOs and government agencies with strategic communications. Her clients included ClimatePlan, the California Air Resources Board, the Housing Leadership Council of San Mateo, Sierra Watch and more. Previously, Stampe was executive director of Walk San Francisco, successfully creating 181 safer speed zones around schools and launching the nation’s first citywide Walk to Work Day. Prior to that, Stampe was communications director for Greenbelt Alliance, advocating for smart growth throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. Stampe holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a master’s degree in botany from the University of Hawai’i. She is based in NRDC’s San Francisco office.
