Eric Whan is a director at GlobeScan, an insights and strategy firm dedicated to building trusted leadership for a sustainable and equitable future. Over the past two decades, Eric has helped steer the company’s growth to become the partner of choice for many of the world’s most influential organizations seeking to understand and reshape how they create value for their stakeholders. Eric’s recent engagements include advising each of 3M, Sun Life Financial and Nutrien in the development their new sustainability strategies. Meanwhile, Eric has also been supporting WWF and the Good Growth Partnership to use market mechanisms to reduce demand for commodity sources linked to deforestation. Eric is co-designer of GlobeScan’s and BBMG’s Aspirationals consumer segmentation and was the creator of National Geographic’s Greendex survey on the state of sustainable consumption globally. Eric also directs the GlobeScan SustainAbility Surveys program, an elite research platform that provides open-source insights into sustainability leadership, progress toward the SDGs and climate goals across 80+ countries. This month, he is focused on understanding how large companies and NGOs can enable more healthy and sustainable living in a mutually beneficial way by launching an annual 25-country consumer survey and analytics framework on this topic.
