Lauren Skiver began her transit career 17 years ago as a Maintenance Clerk at Hillsborough Area Regional Transit. She went on to lead paratransit for HART and transitioned to the Maryland Transit Administration to serve as Director of Paratransit in 2006. In 2009, Ms. Skiver was promoted to Deputy Chief Operating Officer and was responsible for all six MTA Operating Modes to include Bus Transportation and Maintenance, Metro Subway, Light Rail, Mobility Paratransit, and MARC Commuter Rail Service. She became CEO of Delaware Transit Corporation in 2012 and led the agency through a comprehensive transit redesign plan. In late 2013, she made the move to her home state of California as CEO of SunLine Transit Agency. SunLine has contributed 20 years to the research, development and execution of alternative fuel production and vehicle projects. SunLine also currently operates the second largest Hydrogen Fuel Cell transit fleet in the country and expects to become number one in the next two years. Prior to her transit career, Ms. Skiver served in the US Army specializing in Military Intelligence as an Imagery Analyst and served during Operations Desert Shield and Desert Storm.
