Owen Smith is Director of Global Energy Policy & Strategy at Ingersoll Rand, in Ingersoll Rand’s Center for Energy Efficiency and Sustainability (CEES). In this role, Smith supports all of the company’s businesses, including Trane, Thermo King, and Club Car. He is responsible for working with leaders across the business units to connect emerging energy policies with business strategies that enable growth and market leadership. In this role he works to further transform Ingersoll Rand into one of the most sustainable industrial manufacturing companies in the world. Owen joined Ingersoll Rand in June 2015. He came to Ingersoll Rand from the Rocky Mountain Institute (RMI), a well-respected thought leading consultancy on clean energy and energy efficiency, where he was Principal in the Electricity and Communities Practices. There, Smith was accountable for RMI’s programmatic goals to accelerate deployment of clean energy and energy efficient solutions. Prior to RMI, Smith held a series of strategic positions at Duke Energy including Director of Renewable Strategy & Compliance.
