Sustainability Expo 2017
For companies and non-profits focused on clean energy, energy sustainability and management, or the products and services leading the way for a greener tomorrow, the Sustainability Expo is your way to become a part of the Solar Decathlon 2017. This interactive event takes place within the Solar Decathlon and spans multiple weekends.
The Sustainability Expo plays an integral role and helps make the Solar Decathlon a memorable experience by providing direct interaction between participants, speakers, and visitors to the event and the private sector companies and non-profits developing the products and services that are leading the way in energy sustainability. Throughout the experience, consumers gather ideas to use in their own homes and learn just how easy it is to save energy, water, and resources by making smart, sustainable choices.
About the Solar Decathlon: The U.S. Department of Energy Solar Decathlon 2017 will take place in Denver, Colorado. Thirteen teams from the United States, Switzerland, and the Netherlands will bring fully livable houses to Denver, and like the Olympic Decathlon, teams compete in ten contests. The winner best blends design excellence and smart energy production with innovation, market potential, and energy and water efficiency. This event has been expanded to include the Sustainability Expo, featuring forward-thinking companies and regional non-profits, and includes a community festival with music, food trucks, family activities, as well as additional professional development opportunities and workshops for the general public. Both events are open to the public.
