The Descendants Project is a nonprofit committed to the intergenerational healing and flourishing of the Black descendant community in the Louisiana river parishes. The region holds the intersecting histories of enslavement, settler colonialism and environmental degradation. This intimate conversation with the founders of the organization will discuss “Cancer Alley,” grassroots organizing and the power of community resilience.
