Learning from Indigenous Voices
Room 502, Cowlitz
What can indigenous knowledge teach in the pursuit of nature-positive, circular systems?
In Washington alone there are 29 federally recognized Native American tribes with unique governance, language, values and cultural practices. This session will explore the successes and challenges of infusing some of that Indigenous knowledge into specific business practices, and the broader model for the circular economy.
Featuring Alyssa Macy, CEO of the nonprofit Washington Conservation Action in conversation with other indigenous leaders, this session will explore how Indigenous knowledge has been woven into the private sector. Inspiring native leaders will share how the unique Indigenous histories, environmental knowledge, and cultures can help build business practices that protect people and nature as one.
