The Circular Electronics Roadmap: Two Years In
Room 501, Chiwawa
How can the electronics industry and other stakeholders engage with the Circular Electronics Partnership vision and achieve a more circular system by 2030?
According to the UN, e-waste is the fastest growing waste stream, and it could balloon to more than 111 million metric tons per year by 2050. Yet only 17.4 percent of e-waste is formally collected and recycled, while over 80 percent is landfilled or processed informally. This poses toxicity risks to air, water, soil and human health but also leads to missed economic opportunities (including the $57 billion of raw material value in e-waste). There is a clear and urgent need to close the loop on electronics.
The Circular Electronics Partnership (CEP) is working to alleviate industry-wide barriers for companies transitioning to circularity. Two years in, the partnership is advancing its vision through new projects and partnerships. Bring your questions and challenges about how your organization can leverage this vision and launch actionable solutions as part of this community of changemakers.
