How does GreenBiz 25 choose its speakers?

GreenBiz is committed to ensuring our sessions reflect the world we live in. That's why we're committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion when evaluating our speakers. Our goals are to:

  • Include the perspective of a BIPOC speaker in every session with three or more people (including the moderator)
  • Increase the total number of BIPOC speakers across the entire program
  • Include gender diversity in every session with two or more people (including the moderator)

Thoughtful proposals are also key when sifting through our speaker nominations. We set a high bar for our speakers. GreenBiz seeks to include topics and speakers that level-up the conversations on climate action through practical and inclusive action.

  • Insightful Speakers:
    • Background that aligns with our commitment to foster dialogue among, and elevate the leadership of, speakers with diverse backgrounds, perspectives and experiences.
    • Sustainability leaders in their fields, specifically senior executives from large, leading companies and visionary rising stars.
    • Practitioners with a compelling point of view, backed by experience, in an area important to our audience.
    • Ability to engage an audience, through a combination of candor, depth of knowledge and stage presence. Our best speakers come with prior speaking experience, value authentic conversation over corporate talking points and foster meaningful conversations with co-panelists and session attendees.
  • Compelling Topics:
    • Elevate trends, research and tools that sustainability professionals need to do their jobs and advance their careers now – and fresh thinking about what’s around the corner.
    • Address climate issues through a systemic, interconnected, equitable lens.
    • Provides an inclusive worldview, and creates a culture of inclusion.
    • Incorporate metrics and case studies that grounds aspiration in reality.
    • Feature elements broadly applicable to sustainability practitioners across industries and geographies.
    • Fit within the areas of focus for this year’s program, exemplified by the Tracks.
How can I submit a speaker nomination? When will I hear back about my submitted speaker nomination?

The speaker nomination window has now closed. We will respond to all proposals by November 15, 2024.
