Why Protecting Biodiversity is Everything for Business

Half of the world’s GDP — $44 trillion of economic value generation — is dependent on nature and its services, according to the World Economic Forum. To address nature loss, water must be a focus. The World Wildlife Fund estimates that freshwater accounts for 83 percent of the degradation of nature loss since 1970. 

A “nature-positive” society will not only support healthy wetlands and ecosystems, but healthy communities and businesses, too. This session will explore why businesses must prioritize biodiversity protection to mitigate risk and enhance resilience.
