Organization: Clean Energy Buyers Association (CEBA)
Meeting title: CEBA Connect at VERGE

CEBA members have access to all VERGE and CEBA member-only content — including a private reception on Monday, October 23, opportunities for conversations in smaller groups and the invite-only energy customer morning. The DemoDay & Showcase will feature ten Black + Latinx innovators with solutions in the built environment, transportation, food systems, circular economy, and carbon tech sectors. This is the culminating event of the inaugural cohort of the Dream.Org Climate Tech Launchpad.
Dream.Org elevates the genius and talent of individuals historically underrepresented in the tech venture space. We created the Climate Tech Launchpad in partnership with Village Capital and with funding support from Wells Fargo and the San Fransisco Forty Niners.

Organization: Cleantech Open
Meeting title: Global Forum 2023

Established in 2005, Cleantech Open is the longest running and largest cleantech accelerator in the world, having trained 3,500+ entrepreneurs who have raised over $1.5 Billion in funding.
Cleantech Open’s annual flagship event, the Global Forum, is to be held in-person and in partnership with GreenBiz’s VERGE 23. On Wednesday, our 2023 US National and Global Ideas Finalists pitch to judges to compete for the top prizes! In the Startup Pavilion, our 2023 Cohort and alumni showcase their innovations in our Demo Day. Finally, on Thursday, our Annual Awards ceremony takes place, with Keynote Speakers and a luncheon included.

Organization: BSR Business Alliance to Scale Climate Solutions (BASCS)
Meeting title: Carbon Credit Buyers Boot Camp

The Business Alliance to Scale Climate Solutions (BASCS) aims to confront this issue with an in-depth, interactive learning experience for carbon credit buyers that covers the fundamentals of transacting in carbon markets via a boot camp to provide new and emerging buyers with the knowledge and tools they need to purchase high-quality carbon credits, and help scale the VCM.

Meeting title: Driving Action Toward Whole Chain Solutions to Food Loss and Waste With the Pacific Coast Food Waste Commitment

The PCFWC launched a pilot project in 2023 with the goal of analyzing waste hotspots for strawberries and frozen potatoes along the supply chain from farm to retail. The scope of the project was defined by retailers at a special convening for the 2022 VERGE Climate Tech event. This year, the invite-only convening will bring together the participants in the pilot (three large retailers and two suppliers), as well as external stakeholders and solution providers, to discuss collaborative solutions to pursue in 2024 based on the waste hotspot data. Meeting title: AEG Impact Challenge @ VERGE 23: Climate, Health & Equity

"Regarding our Climate, Health and Equity Emergency. a critical obstacle to overcome by VERGE 24 is________."
Invited speakers representing major energy users, regulators, city and community leaders, health care providers, utilities (water, energy and telecom), technology leaders, and solution providers will inspire the creation of a 12 month action plan to deliver a life-saving impact on the deadly intersection of climate, health and equity for specific communities by VERGE 2024.
Participating leaders will:
1) Discuss and prioritize critical 12-month obstacles regarding key areas like water, transportation and housing for specific locations and communities that must be collaboratively overcome.
2) Work as cross sector breakout teams to develop and pitch feasible action plans.
3) Have the opportunity to create a Task Force to deliver and present their result in 12 months at VERGE 24.
