Speaker Nomination

Overview: VERGE focuses on the technologies and systems that accelerate sustainability solutions across sectors in a climate-constrained world. This global event series convenes the ecosystem of leading players working to turn the promise of sustainability into tangible opportunities for business, the environment, and society.

Audience: Participants come from a broad range of sectors and job functions, including buildings and facilities, fleets, IT, energy, sustainability, strategy, policymakers and the public sector.

Program: This isn’t your typical talking-head event. VERGE promises fresh perspectives on the innovative ideas and enabling technologies shaping our future. The conference program feature three types of sessions:

  • Keynote Interviews & Panels — Moderated interviews and discussions with CEOs, business leaders, and other leading figures.
  • VERGE Talks — Individual, 10-minute presentations (à la TED Talks) by innovators sharing a breakthrough, achievement, insight or other “great idea” that is as inspiring as it is informative (and maybe a little entertaining).
  • Breakouts — Small, interactive sessions that take deeper dives into practical applications, case studies, and tangible leadership skills. Breakout speakers come from a range of disciplines and are experts in their respective field.

General themes (not inclusive): Trends and memes at the intersection of technology and sustainability to accelerate systems-based solutions: big data, the cloud, smart grid, the Internet of Things, machine-to-machine (M2M) communications, intelligent buildings, connected vehicles, the future of cities, the sharing economy, decentralized systems and more.

Program topics focus on transformative yet practical, scalable, solutions-oriented exchanges through six program tracks:

  • Distributed Energy Systems: Disruptive market shifts and innovative technologies bringing efficient and low-carbon solutions to companies and cities.
  • Sustainable Mobility: Connectivity, real-time data flows, autonomous technology and other innovations enabling smarter and more efficient transportation
  • Next-Gen Buildings: Data intelligence, software, integrated design strategies and new business models making buildings more efficient, even regenerative.
  • Resilient Cities: Technologies, partnerships and innovative financing changing the way cities cost-effectively increase resilient and deliver enhanced services.
  • Food and Water Systems: New production and delivery systems leading to innovative products and services that address supply-chain risk and resilience.
  • Smarter Supply Chains: Big data, sensors and analytics tools transforming logistics to increase manufacturing and transport efficiency.

Who we want: While we are open to speakers from all disciplines, backgrounds, and perspectives, we give high priority to senior executives from large companies and senior public-sector officials from city, state and federal governments — that is, to people who mirror our primary audience. We are less interested in consultants, marketing gurus, or other service providers. We also give preference to speakers who can attend most or all of the event, as opposed to those who parachute in and out.

Submissions: Please fill out the form below and we will contact you if we are interested in more information. We encourage you to submit your proposal early, as speaking slots do fill up very quickly.
