Fred Arazan

With over 20 years of experience in the chemical and plastics industries, Fred works closely with global chemical companies to understand their business challenges and develop solutions that accelerate product commercialization and increase market differentiation. As an Innovation and Partnership Manager for UL, Fred focuses on helping customers meet the safety, performance and transparency requirements of materials in an ever-changing environment, while ensuring that UL’s portfolio of solutions deliver unique value in the marketplace. Fred is well versed in the performance and testing of materials used in 3D printing and recycled plastics applications. His efforts in these areas demonstrate how UL uses science to validate, verify, and certify the safety and performance of these popular materials.

Fred has held various commercial roles at leading specialty chemical and material manufacturers around the world including; Cytec, Honeywell, Excel Polymers, Vantage Specialty Chemicals, in addition to his lead role in the Materials division at UL. All of these positions have presented Fred the opportunity to gain valuable experience in applications technology across all areas of the materials supply chain.

Fred earned his degrees in Chemical Engineering and Biochemistry at the University of Illinois. He is a Chicago native and also holds a German citizenship.
