Gretchen Watkins
President
Shell Oil Company
As president of Shell Oil Company, Gretchen Watkins oversees the integration of Shell’s businesses in the United States. Of the 70-plus countries where Shell does business, the U.S. is the only one where Shell has a presence in every dimension of Upstream, Midstream and Downstream. The country plays a central role in Shell’s global aspiration to thrive through the transition to a lower carbon energy system.
Gretchen also serves as executive vice president for Shell’s Global Shales business. In this capacity, she oversees the exploration, development and production of onshore shale resources.
Prior to joining Shell in May 2018, Gretchen was chief executive officer of Maersk Oil. And before that she held senior executive roles at BP and Marathon Oil.
