John Matson has more than a decade of editorial experience across science journalism and technology content marketing. Prior to joining RMI, John spent five years at Datadog, a monitoring and security platform for cloud applications. He joined Datadog as a member of a nascent two-person writing team, producing deep-dive guides to complex technologies. Later, he ran and scaled the writing team while overseeing a growing video team as well. Previously, he worked at Mortar Data, a high-scale data analytics startup acquired by Datadog in 2015.
Before joining the software industry, John held a variety of staff positions at Scientific American magazine, including several years as a reporter and associate editor covering the space and physics beats.
