
John Mulrow

John is a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellow at the University of Illinois at Chicago, in the fields of Civil Engineering and Industrial Ecology and serves as a board member and interim executive director at Plant Chicago. He was previously the Industrial Sustainability Specialist at the University of Illinois, where he worked with major Illinois-based industries to reduce and reuse waste, water and energy.
John is a member of the Complex and Sustainable Urban Networks laboratory and serves on the Board of Directors at Plant Chicago and Sustain DuPage. He has a professional background in solid waste management and is an advisor to several food waste prevention and composting projects in the Chicago region. John holds a Bachelor of Science in Earth systems from Stanford University.
