Director, Sustainable Operations
Katherine Walker, Director, Sustainable Operations, Sodexo North America currently leads implementation of Sodexo's sustainability initiatives across 10,000 North American sites in an effort to achieve Sodexo's ambitions science-based carbon targets and circular economy commitments. Her team focuses on plant-based and low carbon eating, material and food waste reduction, energy efficiency at sites, and designing engaging employee programs that create culture change as we move our complex organization towards our ambitious targets. She has been on Sodexo’s Sustainability & CSR team for 12 years and previously oversaw data collection, analytics, reporting and building performance improvement tools for managers. Katherine has always been drawn to the intersection of food & beverage, environmental protection, and social justice. She grew up working in her family’s vineyard and spent 10 years in food service, holding nearly every job front and back of the house until eventually running her own catering company. Looking to make a bigger impact, she completed a sustainability-focused MBA and joined Sodexo shortly after. Most of her non-work time is spent wrangling her two young daughters, but she still loves to cook and wishes she could travel more.
