Katie spent over 15 years working in the Restaurant & Hospitality industry before majoring in Sustainability and Energy. The granddaughter of migrant farmworkers from Mexico, she is also an artist, wife, and mother to two humans. Katie became involved in social justice issues through her art, and is interested in the intersection of Environmental Sustainability, Social Justice, and inclusive economic models. Katie grew up in the Borderlands of so-called Southern California and Southern Arizona. Before joining Emerald Cities Collaborative as a Project Manager, Katie was an organizer working on Energy and Public Land issues with the Grand Canyon Chapter of the Sierra Club.
