Kenan Sahin
Founder and President
CAMX Power
Kenan Sahin was founder and president of Kenan Systems from the early 1980s until he sold it to Lucent Technologies for $1.5 billion (as the sole owner). Kenan Systems pushed the boundaries of AI-based constructs and big data analytics systems for global banking institutions and telecommunications. Upon selling the company, in 2001 he founded TIAX which, in turn, spun out CAMX Power, a company/lab that created CAM 7, the highest energy density cathode material for lithium-ion batteries — critical for enabling lower-cost EVs and other clean energy applications--and working with organizations like the U.S. Dept. of Energy, BASF and Johnson Matthey. He’s currently president of CAMX Power.
All the while, Dr. Sahin has spent decades as a tenured MIT (and Sloan School of Management) professor, where he also received his undergraduate and graduate degrees, and now serves as a Life Member on MIT's board.
