Martha J. Shaw, CSRwire correspondent to the UN and CEO of Earth Advertising, founded to “advertise the Earth.”
During her 20-year career in media communications, Martha has served in the capacity of executive creative director, copywriter and department manager in major U.S. and Pacific Rim advertising agencies. She has won top industry awards in e-media, radio, TV, print, outdoor and field marketing, including Adweek Creative All-Star, the Radio Mercury Award, New York One Show, LA Belding, San Diego Best of Show and New England Broadcast Awards Best of Show.
Martha holds an undergraduate and graduate degree in earth science with a research background at Scripps Institution of Oceanography. She began her career in media as a publicist for San Diego County Water Authority and San Diego Department of Health while working at PBS.
She serves on the advisory boards of New England Aquarium, New York Hall of Science, Martha's Vineyard Television, Manhattan Prospect, Sundance: Investing in Media That Matters and is a member of NY Environmental Business Association, Explorers Club, Co-Op America, Social Venture Network, and a dozen other organizations that support a green economy.
