Filmmaker Peter Byck on closing the carbon cycle

It may sound surprising, but fossil fuel companies and the beef industry have the potential to slow climate change — if they collaborate, and realize the waste of oil is the manna of soil, argues filmmaker Peter Byck (Carbon Nation, Soil Carbon Cowboys) during a talk in Phoenix at GreenBiz 16.

“How does the carbon get down into the soil? It’s our good friend photosynthesis” says Byck. His work with Project Drawdown to explores a variety of techniques to develop a healthier agricultural system that can sequester carbon down into soil.
