Mike Thomsen is the Vice President of Food Sourcing for Second Harvest Food Bank which provides about 2.5 million pounds of food each month to over 250 food banks, feeding centers and other programs throughout Eastern Washington and Northern Idaho. He has been in his current role for just over 18 months.
Mike comes to Second Harvest after 34 years in the University Dining industry where he served in almost every roll imaginable. While the majority of his career was spent at the University of Idaho, he also worked at Arizona State University, Seattle Pacific University, Willamette University and as a support manager for over 40 schools in 11 western states.
Mike works to build relationships with farmers, packers, processors and other people within the food industry. His goal is to partner with them and bring their generous donations to those in need.
