Green Business Network, the nonprofit producer of GreenBiz.com has announced a series of partnerships with leading environmental and business groups to produce free, content-rich Web sites to help mainstream companies align environmental responsibility with business success.

These new sites, to be rolled out over the coming year, are intended to complement GreenBiz.com, a two-year-old site that has received media and user acclaim as a one-stop access point for thousands of organizations, tools, reports, government programs, news stories, job listings, advice columns, and other resources on the topic of business and the environment.

The forthcoming Web sites include:

* ClimateBiz.com -- a partnership with Business for Social Responsibility, will help companies understand and address climate change, with an emphasis on providing hands-on tools, action steps, and other resources.

* GreenerBuildings.com -- a partnership with the US Green Building Council, will provide resources to those in business, government, academia, and others on the subject of environmentally responsible building, architecture, and facility management.

* GreenerPaper.com -- a partnership with the Recycled Paper Coalition, will feature a resource center on environmentally preferable papers, along with a supplier directory, a request-for-quotation engine, and an environmental impact calculator.

* GreenerFleets.com -- a partnership with the American Council for an Energy-Efficient Economy, will cover environmental issues related to corporate and institutional fleet ownership, operation, and maintenance, including a database of vehicles’ environmental impacts.

* GreenBizOregon.com -- a partnership with the Oregon Business Association and the Oregon Environmental Council, will help businesses in that state proactively address environmental issues. Similar sites are being proposed in several other states.

Each of these sites will be free to users, thanks to grants and sponsorships from companies, government agencies, foundations, and others.

"These partnerships are a natural extension of our efforts to bring hands-on environmental information to mainstream companies," says Joel Makower, GreenBiz.com's founder and director of strategy. "By zeroing in on these important business issues, and by partnering with these respected leadership organizations, we will help the broadest possible audience of large and small companies improve their environmental and economic performance."

GreenBiz.com is a project of The National Environmental Education & Training Foundation, based in Washington, D.C. Sponsors include AT&T, Bank of America, Pitney Bowes, Kimberly Clark, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency.
