Wells Fargo Earns Green-Business Certification in San Francisco

The San Francisco Green Business Program has officially recognized the Wells Fargo's Haight Street store -- the first and only bank location in San Francisco to meet its green business standards.

Under the certification, Wells Fargo's Haight Street store complies with all environmental regulations and meets program criteria for conserving resources, preventing pollution and minimizing waste.

"By being the first banking center to be recognized as a San Francisco Green Business, Wells Fargo has demonstrated its commitment to the environment by greening their operations and adopting green purchasing policies," said Sushma Dhulipala, Commercial Toxics Reduction Program Coordinator for the SF Department of the Environment. "We applaud Wells Fargo’s efforts to conserve resources and prevent pollution."

The San Francisco Green Business Program is a partnership of various city agencies that encourages businesses to take proactive actions aimed to achieve a healthier and cleaner environment. The program is voluntary.

"Wells Fargo is proud to be the first and only bank in San Francisco to become a green business," said Joanne Schultz, San Francisco downtown regional president. “We are actively showing our environmental responsibility to our community and hope other companies will follow our lead to become green businesses.”
