Denver Public Schools have enlisted real estate management software developer TRIRIGA and the company's solution called TREES to shear energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions at more than 180 of the school system's facilities.

Of the nearly 200 sites, 154 are schools. The software system, whose acronym stands for TRIRIGA Real Estate Environmental Sustainability, helps clients become more energy and resource efficient by measuring, managing and reducing greenhouse gases.

Denver is the first school system to deploy TREES, which became widely available last fall. Several other schools, however, use TRIRIGA's earlier offering, Integrated Workplace Management Software, a spokeswoman said.

More than a third of the Fortune 100 companies use TRIRIGA solutions to manage the environmental performance of their facilities. Several local, state and federal organizations and institutions also use the company's software suites.
