
Peter Madden
Peter Madden is the chief executive of Forum for the Future, leading 70 staff as they find practical ways that private and public organizations can deliver a sustainable future.
For the last 20 years Peter has been an influential advocate for sustainable development. From 2002 to 2005, he worked as head of policy at the Environment Agency, leading teams working on issues such as climate change, green economics and sustainable communities. Prior to that, he was ministerial adviser at Defra and DETR, where he advised ministers and the prime minister on environmental issues. Before that, he was director of the Green Alliance and previous to that, head of policy at Christian Aid.
Peter has written widely for the media and published numerous pamphlets and reports. He has previously been a member of the UK Round Table on Sustainable Development and the board of the European Environment Bureau. He is currently a board member of Groundwork UK, an environmental regeneration charity.
