Poornima Parameswaran is the co-founder of Trace Genomics, a pioneering soil science, genomics and machine-learning company, and a World Economic Forum Technology Pioneer. Utilizing technology developed for human health - microbiology, DNA sequencing, and genomics, Trace Genomics is the only company to combine soil biology at the level of DNA, with soil chemistry, and distill the most comprehensive soil intelligence into actionable interventions at scale, at the farm gate. Poornima earned a Ph.D. in Microbiology and Immunology from Stanford University with Nobel laureate Dr. Andrew Fire, and a B.S. in Molecular Biology from University of Texas at Austin. She is an author on a dozen publications that have been referenced over 1,500 times, where she pioneered the use of genomics technologies to address fundamental questions in microbial diseases.
