Ørsted
Rasmus draws on two decades of experience in the fields of stakeholder engagement, sustainability, and international affairs as he leads Ørsted’s Global Public Affairs team. As former head of sustainability and a driving force on Ørsted’s journey to be ranked as the world’s most sustainable corporation in 2020, he now works on two fronts:
- To accelerate global climate action
- To deliver multiple sustainability benefits from Ørsted’s offshore wind farms in partnership with the company’s customers and stakeholders
Rasmus is a frequent speaker at international conferences on sustainability and serves on a number of boards and committees including:
- Chairman of the Board for the Danish chapter of United Nations Global Compact
- Danish Government Council on Social Responsibility and the UN Sustainable Development Goals
- Confederation of Danish Industries Sustainability Policy Committee
- Various corporate sustainability and venture fund advisory boards
Education and background
Rasmus holds a master’s degree in international affairs and political science from the University of Copenhagen. In addition, he has learnt Russian and Serbian languages in the army and holds the rank of Captain of the Reserve. In the first half of his career, Rasmus has worked for the EU, NATO, and OSCE to promote post-conflict reconciliation and the rule of law in the Balkans and the post-Soviet area.
Privately, he lives with his wife and three children in Copenhagen. He enjoys creative pursuits in music and photography and privately admits that his hardest leadership challenge ever was fronting a rock band.
