Thai Munroe is a GIS research analyst with the Global Forest Watch team, where she helps manage the GFW platform database and perform relevant geospatial analyses.
Before starting with WRI, she was a graduate research assistant with SERVIR-Mekong at the Science Coordination Office in Huntsville, Alabama. While in graduate school, her research focused on improving methods to assess the impact of dam construction in the Mekong Region, where her mother’s family is from. Thai holds a B.S. in Atmospheric Science from Cornell University and an M.S. in Earth System Science from the University of Alabama in Huntsville.
Thai has always had a strong passion for science and helping others, and enjoys various volunteer activities in her free time. She also enjoys cooking and spending time with her family and friends, as well as her dog and two cats.
