
Tom Cyrs

Tom Cyrs is a research associate with the WRI United States Program, where he leads research efforts to assess and quantify the impact of state and local level climate policies. He is a core member of the analytic team for America's Pledge, an initiative to aggregate, analyze and showcase non-federal climate policy and action in the U.S. He also leads research on Renewable Natural Gas (RNG) as a climate strategy for U.S. states.
Tom has experience in policy and data analysis, program administration and the promotion of sustainable environmental practices both in the U.S. and abroad. Prior to WRI, he served internationally as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer and as an intern with the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Clean Energy and Water Program in Armenia.
He holds an M.S. in Global Affairs with a focus in energy and environmental policy from New York University.
A native of Illinois, Tom lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife, Kelsey, and dog, Bergen.
