Amgen
David Seitz is Amgen’s director of Environment and Sustainability. In partnership with Amgen’s engineering David oversees Amgen’s efforts to minimize its impact on the environment, addressing climate change and resource management by applying innovative technologies, maximizing efficiencies, increasing use of renewable energy, and using greener materials.
David joined Amgen in 2008 as a global environmental compliance manager. He was part of Amgen’s first environmental sustainability team starting in 2009 and recently completed Amgen’s 2020 environmental sustainability plan and established Amgen’s new 2027 plan as the leader of environment and sustainability. Amgen’s 2027 plan includes an ambitious commitment to achieve carbon neutrality, while also reducing water use by 40% and waste disposed by 75%. Prior to Amgen, he held various positions at Boeing’s Space and Communications division. David has nearly 30 years of experience in environmental management and holds a masters and bachelor’s in chemical engineering from Cal State University at Long Beach.
