Carmen Cordova

After spending two years as an NRDC Science Fellow specializing in sustainable livestock, Carmen Cordova became a staff scientist in April 2015. She now helps NRDC recognize the diverse health threats posed by antibiotic misuse and engages in outreach to policymakers, business leaders, and health-care professionals regarding issues of antibiotics in livestock. Before joining NRDC, Cordova was a postdoctoral fellow in microbiology at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich.
She holds a bachelor’s degree in biological and physical sciences, a master’s in chemical engineering, and a PhD in environmental engineering and sciences, all from Stanford University. She is based in San Francisco.
