Celine Suarez is a Manager of Advisory Services at BSR (BSR).
With strong project management and CSR program analysis skills, Celine drives BSR's work in the travel and tourism industry. She leverages her experience in shareholder advocacy to develop stakeholder relationships with a focus on SRIs, among others.
Prior to BSR, Celine worked as a freelance analyst for The Corporate Library and KLD Research & Analytics (now MSCI), where she wrote customized client-requested reports on trends in corporate responsibility and environmental governance as well as profiled European utility companies. She has also done extensive analysis and shareholder engagement work in her years as a research manager at Domini Social Investments and an SRI analyst at ClearBridge Advisors, formerly Citigroup Asset Management. She is a founding member and former co-chair of the Sustainable Investment Research Analyst Network.
Celine holds an M.S. in Environmental Policy and Sustainability from the Pratt Institute's Graduate Center for Planning and Environment in New York, and a B.S. in Earth System Science with a minor in Geology from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst, where she graduated with honors.
Celine Suarez is an Executive Director in the Global Sustainable Finance Group at Morgan Stanley, and brings nearly 20 years’ experience in corporate sustainability and sustainable investing to the team. She drives the firm’s corporate sustainability strategy, disclosure and stakeholder engagement, and she oversees the activities of the Institute for Sustainable Investing. Before joining Morgan Stanley, Celine was Client Director at the consultancy Context Group, where she led engagements with major global firms. Previously, she was also a consultant at BSR, where she drove strategic sustainability consulting with leading companies in the financial, airline, hospitality, retail, and food and beverage industries, and led the Center for Sustainable Procurement.She started her career as an analyst integrating environmental, social and governance (ESG) factors into investment decisions at several leading sustainable asset management firms, including Citi and Domini Social Investments.Celine is currently an adjunct professor at NYU, teaching a Master’s course on strategic Corporate Sustainability. She holds an MS in Sustainable Environmental Systems from the Pratt Institute, and a BS in Earth System Science from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.
