Charles Herget is Assistant Vice President, Environmental Sustainability for AT&T. In this capacity, he leads AT&T’s corporate environmental sustainability work. He and his team help to drive environmental considerations from sourcing to operations.
Charles Herget is Assistant Vice President, Environmental Sustainability for AT&T. In this capacity, he leads AT&T’s corporate environmental sustainability work. He and his team help to drive environmental considerations from sourcing to operations. In addition, Charles works with leaders across the business to identify and market social and environmental benefits of AT&T’s products, driving business opportunities and empowering customers to meet global challenges. Under his leadership, he and his team helped implement the company’s purchasing strategy around renewable energy, making AT&T one of the largest purchasers in the U.S. The company has also recently set a goal to achieve zero-waste at 100 AT&T facilities, including Dallas Headquarters. His team’s work, and other key work across AT&T’s CSR organization, has enabled the company to be named to the respected Dow Jones Sustainability Index
During his 20+ career, Charles has served in various leadership roles, most recently as AVP, Education Leadership. Key initiatives for his team included executing upon AT&T’s commitment to the White House’s ConnectED program, as well as collaborating on the launch of Access from AT&T. Prior to that role, he was sales center vice president for AT&T’s Government and Education Segment. Early in his career, he helped stand up the first wireless data sales teams at AT&T Wireless and Cingular Wireless.
Charles earned both an MBA in marketing and a bachelor’s degree in economics from The University of Texas at Austin. For the past six years, he has mentored employees in various Employee Resource Groups. He and his wife, Vicky, live in Frisco, TX, and have three children, Isabella, Ana, and James.
