Mr. Christopher V. O. Floro is the Public Works Business Line Director for Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC), Pacific. After twenty years in the Navy, initially in aviation and then in the Navy Civil Engineer Corps (CEC), he worked as a program manager for Commander, Navy Region Northwest for 18 months, then as the Public Works Business Line Manager at NAVFAC Northwest with responsibilities for facilities services, transportation and weight handling, utilities infrastructure, energy programs and facilities sustainment valued at over $275M annually. He joined NAVFAC PAC after 11 years as the PWBL leader for NAVFAC Northwest. He is a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Washington, a Certified Member of the American Association of Airport Executives, and a Certified Energy Manager. He holds Masters Degrees in Aeronautical Science from Embry Riddle Aeronautical University, Seattle, WA and Civil Engineering from the University of Washington, Seattle, WA. He traveled the globe during his twenty years as a Naval officer with tours in the Far East, Europe, Alaska, and Antarctica. Noteworthy assignments included McMurdo Station, Antarctica where he was the Public Works Officer for Naval Support Force, Antarctica; Naples, Italy where he was instrumental in the establishment of Engineering Field Activity, Mediterranean in 1992; and Adak, Alaska where he was Officer in Charge of the Caretaker Site Office during the base closure and transition to private enterprise and state management
