James Gomme is director of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD).
James Gomme is director of Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) at the World Business Council for Sustainable Development (WBCSD). The business membership organization comprises some 200 multinational corporations that come together to coordinate and scale up solutions to create a sustainable future.
Gommes heads up the organization’s work on engaging members around the SDG agenda, supporting companies’ efforts to integrate the SDGs into their strategic considerations, and working with individual industry sectors to develop detailed roadmaps exploring how they can maximize contributions to the SDGs on the road to 2030.
Gommes joined WBCSD in March 2016 from long-standing WBCSD member company Mitsubishi Corporation, Japan’s largest trading and investment company. During more than 10 years at Mitsubishi, James led teams across a variety of corporate sustainability, public affairs and investor relations roles in both Europe and Japan. He has an undergraduate degree from Durham University, an MBA from Madrid’s IE Business School, and a Certificate in Investor Relations.
